Gasflowed cylinder heads

A gasflowed cylinder head is a standard cylinder head which has gone through various levels/stages of machining/modifing. All gasflowed cylinder heads will have both the inlet and exhaust ports machined to improve flow in (intake) and out (exhaust) of the cylinder head. This is not just a case of boring out the ports to there maximum size (A common mistake) which achtually decreases the flow rate (cfm) and can even make the car undriveable, but carefully machining the ports to dramatically improve flow through out there entire length. The main difference between the stages (stage 2 and stage 3) is the shape of the ports and valve bowl area. Stage 2 is best suited to fast road or occasional track use as the improvements are through more of the rev range where as stage 3 is best suited for track or race use as the port design is more suited to higher up in the rev range where its needed. To improve the flow and remove any further restrictions it is recommended to have the inlet manifold port matched aswell so theres no "steps" between the manifold and the cylinder head to maximize flow and increase power output. i would highly recommend that you fit a performance exhaust system and high flow air filters as this will allow un-restricted flow through the cylinder head.
Valve and seat work.

Valves will be 'back-cut (2 angles) or cut with 3 angles by doing this you are recutting the 45' angle which is where the valve will seating ensuring a perfect seal between the valve and the seat in the cylinder head.  The 30' angle (back-cut) on the top removes the step between the 45' and the back of the valve which smooths out and improves flow, the 3rd angle is a 30' cut which will remove and smooth the transition between the 45' seat and the top of the valve. The valves will then have the face polished to stop carbon build up.
Valve backs will also swirl polished which helps flow. larger valves can also be fitted which will improve flow even more. The seats will need to be measured first to see how big the hardened seat insert is and how much it can be enlarged by.

Gasflowed single cylinder head (4stroke motorbikes)

For fast road and track use.
  • Cylinder head is fully stripped and cleaned
  • Skimmed (reface) if necessary
  • Pressure tested x2 (before and after machining work)
  • Inlet and exhaust ports machined to improve flow
  • Exhaust ports polished to stop carbon build up and to improve flow.
  • Inlet ports left with a slightly rougher finish to help the fuel and air mix.
  • Valve guides checked for wear and replaced if needed
  • Valve guides re-profiled to improve flow.
  • Valve seats recut
  • Valves recut with 2 angles (back-cut) for improved flow 3 angles.
  • Valves checked for wear, cleaned, swirl polished and faces highly polished.
  • Cylinder heads can also be painted in vht paints if needed.
  • Resembled using new valve stem seals

Prices Approximately £100 for a 2 valve or £150 for 4 valve
